A vast scanned-text archive with full-text search; the place to try when a book is old, obscure or long out of print.
Before you rely on itMuch of it is uploaded by users, so scan and OCR quality is uneven. Borrowing an in-copyright book needs a free account and often a waitlist, and after the publishers' lawsuit (Hachette v. Internet Archive) more than 500,000 in-copyright titles were removed from lending altogether, so a book you find in the catalogue may no longer be borrowable at all.
Useful for out-of-print scholarly books, old editions, government reports and society journals that no publisher has reissued.Telebem editors
